Survey Lab

Surveying takes the foremost place in planning, designing and execution of any kind of construction work. Moreover, knowledge in surveying plays a vital role in the professional practice of civil engineers and architects. Hence, the students are introduced to a course on surveying, provided with ample time and equipments to perform the field exercises on their own.

The survey lab Consists of Total station, GPS, Electronic theodolite, Transit theodolite, dumpy levels, plane tables, compass etc.,

Strength of Material Lab

Strength of Materials Laboratory is well-equipped for testing structural materials including steel, timber, concrete etc. and has a 100T electronic UTM, a 200T compression testing machine .hardness test on aluminum, brass and MS bar is also examined in the laboratory. Standard tests on building materials are routinely performed for government and private organizations as part of consultancy and testing activities.

Hydraulics Lab

It is fully equipped with all necessary equipment along with their accessories as required for as per AICTE norms. The laboratory has kept pace with modern technological advancements with the addition of new equipment as and when required.

The Hydraulic laboratory is equipped with flow measuring equipments like orifices, mouth pieces, notches, orifice meters, Venturimeter, water-meter, Pitot tube and Reynolds apparatus.

The fluid machinery laboratory has Pelton wheel, Kaplan turbine, Francis turbine, multistage Centrifugal pumps, Jet pump, Gear oil pump, Submersible pump, Vertical turbine pump test rig, Compressor pump test rig and Reciprocating pump.

Environmental Engineering Lab

The Environmental Engineering Laboratory is sound equipped to meet the academic requirements of undergraduate programme. Modern equipments are added periodically keeping abreast of latest technological advancements which in turn helps us to render assistance to the students in carrying out innovative projects and to maintain stringent quality and accuracy in our test procedures.

Digital pH meter, Turbidity meter, Conductivity meter, BOD Incubator, Flame Photometer, DO & TDS analyzer, Colorimeter are the major highlights of the laboratory.

Soil Mechanics Lab

The laboratory is equipped with all modern machineries required for advanced research and consultancy services. All the equipments mentioned in the syllabus content of the undergraduate programme can be carried out in the laboratory. The dimension of the laboratory is 103.7 m2. The obsolete equipments and methods are periodically replaced with latest arrivals and methods, and the condemned equipments are used to explain the historical development. The spring type unconfined compression test was replaced with load frame technique .field density tests like sand replacement, core cutter method also enriched in this laboratory.

Concrete and Highway Lab

The various Equipment available in the laboratory are Aggregate Impact , Bitumen Penetration testing machine, Dorry’s Abrasion Testing, Marshall Stability Apparatus, Ring and Ball , Fire and flash point, Los Angles Abrasion testing machine, Deval’s Attrition and Ductility. The various materials test can be carried out to find the properties of aggregate and bitumen.

Advanced Structural Engineering Lab

This lab is unique of its kind, because, it houses testing facilities for structural members. Dynamic studies can be done with the help of Electro dynamic vibration system (100 Kgf) with PC based controller.

The loading frames with 100T capacity are provided in the laboratory for conducting model study on Structural elements. The digital displacement indicator, proving rings, data logger, dial gauges , electrical strain gauges and linear variable displacement transducers are available to study failure characteristics of models.

CADD Lab

The computer laboratory has an area of 70.17 sq.m to provide knowledge on the computer based analysis, design & drafting to the students and to carry out research. The computational laboratory well equipped with all advanced facilities including 50+ (1 server) computers and latest software like AUTOCAD 2010, STAADPRO V8i. We have the following softwares which are beyond to syllabus PRIMAVERA Ver-5, STRAP Ver-12.5, Revit 16” etc.
