The department aims at providing competitive quality education and we support the students to lay basic profound foundation in all the branches of Engineering.
The motto of the Department is to provide high quality education to students with the assistance of well-qualified, dedicated and highly motivated faculty members. Our faculty’s research expertise includes all frontier areas in Mathematics. Physics, Chemistry and English. We impart the best teaching methodologies which prepare competent professionals able to independently apply knowledge to become a successful engineer.
English
The department of English is one of the best and dedicated disciplines ceaselessly educating and emerging students with quality content. The department has well qualified and experienced teaching faculties. It also conducts seminars and encourages the students to present papers in various seminars. The language laboratory provides training for the students to listen , speak, read and write the English language at their own pace. Besides, with the view of helping the students to pursue their higher studies or to get placed in MNCs Training is given to take up examinations such as Business English Certificate(BEC).
Chemistry
The chemistry department consists of a highly active educational and research team, that together with other departments at TKCE, add wings in fulfilling the vision and mission by imparting the strong fundamentals of Science among the budding Engineering students community. The Department of Chemistry encompasses with highly qualified faculties and lays a strong foundation for the spanking newers pursuing engineering degree at TKCE.
Mathematics
The Department of Mathematics focuses on applied and applicable mathematics catering to students of varied backgrounds to help them understand their potential and enrich their lives.A student of mathematics with good analytical skills and logical reasoning can excel in any walk of life. The department has highly qualified and motivated staff. They regularly attend seminars, workshops and conferences to keep themselves current for efficient classroom management and to meet the challenges of a fast changing technical world.
Physics
Department of Physics plays a major role in Engineering and Technology. It creates an opportunity for the students to understand the fundamental concepts of Engineering and Technology both in circuit and non-circuit branches. In brief it lays a foundation in which the students want to excel in their own field of interest. The department handle Engineering Physics – I, II and Engineering Physics Laboratory as entry level to promote the students to the next level.
Vision and Mission
Vision
Science and humanities progress for a multiform learner population , offering advance technology , innovative ideas, and dynamic service to our students Our department carryout research and development activities that help to solve the problem of industries and rural communities and to help increase the productivity, enhance better quality life as well as to conserve environmental conditions.
Mission
Science and humanities promotes student success, prepare a skilled workforce, and builds tomorrow’s leaders by providing access to quality education, help students to move forward with a collaborative initiative to achieve all round excellence and promote knowledge in a rewarding and inspiring research environment.

Activities
Motivation Programme
One day Motivation programme conducted by Mr.B.ChandraMohan, National Trainer, Erode on 1ST SEPTEMBER 2016.
The main motive of this program :
Motivation has several effects on students' learning and behavior via intelligence and presence of mind.
First, motivation directs behavior toward particular goals. Motivation determines the specific goals toward which people strive; thus, it affects the choices students make. For example, whether to enroll in an art class or physics, whether to attend a school basketball game during the week or complete an assignment that's due the next day.
Motivation also leads to increased effort and energy. Motivation determines whether a student will pursue a task (even a difficult one) with enthusiasm or a lackluster attitude.
Motivation increases the initiation and persistence of activities. In our first example, Erik continued with art-type activities in his free time and he also tried to perform these types of activities in relation to his other assignments. Motivation will increase students' time on task and is also an important factor affecting their learning and achievement.
Motivation enhances cognitive processing. Motivation actually affects what and how information is processed because motivated students are more likely to pay attention and try to understand the material instead of simply going through the motions of learning in a superficial manner.
BLOOD DONATION CAMP
A blood donation camp was organized on Thu,28thjuly 2016 at The Kavery college of engineering,Mecheri,Salem.More than 50 students and staff members donate their blood.
The camp was inaugurated byDr.A.DeepaRajeshwari (chief doctor)NSS Primary health centre,mecheri,govt.hospitalmettur.
Joy of giving :
The SecretaryMr.S.K.Elangovan said that the participation in the blood donation camp itself was a part of education at TheKaverycollege of engineering as it teaches the students the “Joy of giving”.
The Principal Mr.T.K.Kannan said that it focusedthe importance of inculcating social responsibilities among the students.
Mr.A.sritharAsst.prof,Physics in the department of science and humanities co-ordinated the camp.

Memory Training
Hayagriva Academy Conducted Memory Training on 07th September 2013
The main motive of this program :
You will become better organized, in your mind and in your life.
You will learn that a healthy mind comes from a healthy body, and your physical as well as mental health will improve.
You will see that in your life , having a good memory is extremely advantageous – for example: by being better able to remember names and faces; by being able to come up with answers that others may have to search notes for; by being able to increase your productivity because you are not always in a ‘brain fog’.
You will be able to relieve a lot of stress in your life caused by lack of memory and organization. Lowering your stress level actually improves your memory even more, as well as improving your health.A better memory means you can grasp concepts and apply them to other situations, speeding up your learning. Your memory will begin to connect the dots between concepts and form web-like chains, increasing your understanding.
You will be more successful socially because you are able to sustain a conversation due to increased recall of events or trivia you have seen and heard on the news or in print. You will become a more well-rounded person, able to rub elbows with others on the same intellectual level.
